Are you planning to visit the Moroccan consulate in the Netherlands? Then it is important that you are aware of the opening hours. These can vary, especially around holidays or during busy periods. In this blog you can read everything you need to know before you leave for the consulate.
Standard opening hours Moroccan consulate.
The consulate's regular business hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please note that you cannot just walk in. For almost all services - such as applying for a new passport, renewing your CNIE or legalizing documents - you must make an appointment in advance through the consulate's official website.
Pick up? You can do so without an appointment.
You do not need to make an appointment to pick up your Moroccan passport or national identity card (la carte nationale d'identité électronique - CNIE). Just come by during regular opening hours. Just make sure to bring your receipt and check in advance that your document is actually ready. This will avoid an unnecessary trip.
Public holidays? Then the Moroccan consulate is closed.
A common mistake is to go to the consulate on a Dutch or Moroccan holiday anyway. Unfortunately, you will then find yourself in front of a closed door. The consulate is closed on both Dutch and Moroccan holidays. Think of Eid, King's Day or Labor Day in Morocco. So always check in advance whether your planned visit does not coincide with a public holiday.
Saturday open? Sometimes, but only on notice.
What many people do not know is that sometimes - usually once or twice a year - the consulate is also open on Saturdays. This usually happens during busy periods, such as the summer vacations.
Please note that this is only announced in advance through the consulate's official website or Arabika's social channels, so without an announcement, there is no point in stopping by on any Saturday. With an announced Saturday opening, it is sometimes possible to arrange certain services without an appointment, but this will be explicitly stated.
Finally; always check opening hours before departure.
Avoid disappointment and always check the consulate's website shortly in advance. This way you will know for sure whether your appointment will take place, whether special openings have been scheduled, or whether there are changed opening hours due to a holiday.
Thus, proper preparation will save you time, stress and an unnecessary trip to the Moroccan consulate. Want to make sure you are well prepared? Schedule your appointment with Arabika right here.
