You will generally need the following documents to request an appointment at the Moroccan consulate for a Moroccan Carte Nationale (CNIE). There may be exceptional cases. If your situation is not listed below, we recommend that you check with the Moroccan consulate to find out which documents are required in your situation. Which situation applies to you?
- First application – Born in the Netherlands
Required documents:
- Family Booklet
- Dutch ID card / passport / residence permit
- Recent letter with your name and address (no more than 3 months old)
- Are you a minor? Then also the Moroccan Carte Nationale of the father
- First application – Born in Morocco
Required documents:

- Dutch ID card / passport / residence permit
- Recent letter with your name and address (no more than 3 months old)
- Are you a minor? Then also the Moroccan Carte Nationale of the father
- Renewal/extension of Moroccan Carte Nationale
Required documents:
- Current Moroccan Carte Nationale
- Dutch ID card / passport / residence permit
- Recent letter with your name and address (no more than 3 months old)
- Lost your Moroccan Carte Nationale?
Required documents:
- Copy of your Moroccan Carte Nationale or copy of your Moroccan passport
- If you do not have either of these, you will need to know your Moroccan Carte Nationale number.
If you do not know this number, you can visit the consulate during opening hours to request it. - Dutch ID card / passport / residence permit
- Recent letter with your name and address (no more than 3 months old)
- None of the above situations
