Are you married in the Netherlands? Then you can have your Dutch marriage officially recognized at the Moroccan consulate. To do this, you must compile a file with the following documents:

  1. An international marriage certificate issued by the Dutch municipality where your marriage took place.
  2. An international extract for both spouses from the Personal Records Database (BRP) of the municipality where you reside, stating your marital status.
  3. A Moroccan birth certificate and a full copy of it for both spouses. Were you born in Morocco? If so, Arabika can request your birth certificate Arabika your Arabika . Were you born in the Netherlands? Even if you were born in the Netherlands, you must request your Moroccan birth certificate from the Moroccan consulate.
  4. Valid Dutch passport or identity card of both spouses.
  5. Valid Moroccan identity cards (CNIE) of both spouses.
  6. Moroccan national identity cards (CNIE) for two adult male witnesses. The witnesses must also accompany you to the Moroccan consulate.
  7. Are you or your partner divorced? Then the Moroccan divorce certificate is also required.

Extra in the case of a mixed marriage

  • If one of the partners does not have Moroccan nationality:an international birth certificate issued by the Dutch municipality and a declaration of conversion to Islam will be requested .

All the above documents must not be older than three months at the time of submission.
